The IT infrastructure previously used by Handtmann Leichtmetallgießerei Annaberg GmbH was no longer technically up to date, so it was imperative to renew the hardware.
The order
Thanks to the long-standing business relationship with SIGMA Chemnitz as a supplier of high-quality FUJITSU workstations, the Chemnitz IT service provider was commissioned to submit an offer tailored to the needs of the Handtmann site in Annaberg.
Decision for a Fujitsu Storage Cluster
The foundry finally decided to purchase a FUJITSU storage cluster with two All Flash systems (AF250) including the FibreChannel network concept.
An active/active cluster is to be used, which SIGMA Chemnitz can offer at a convincing price in cooperation with FUJITSU.
The extremely high performance of the The SSD hard disks installed in the storage systems as well as high-quality, reliable and redundant Brocade FC switches ensure extremely high performance. The hardware is distributed across three fire zones and is interconnected using single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables.
As agreed, the project is to be implemented by SIGMA Chemnitz IT systems engineers in 2021.
