Freescale NXP i.MX53 processor
We have already implemented standard and customer-specific Board Support Packages ( BSP ) based on the NXP i.MX53 processor for the company TQ-Systems.
The NXP i.MX53 processors ( previously Freescale i.MX53 ) represent power-saving multimedia processors. The processors are based on an ARM Cortex-A8 core and offer a performance of up to 1.2 GHz. This makes the processors ideal for high-end multimedia applications. In addition, the NXP i.MX53 offers an integrated display controller, full HD capability, and sophisticated graphics and connectivity features.
Consumer and multimedia applications
The Freescale i.MX535 was the first i.MX processor to support 1080p multistandard video playback with excellent low power consumption. The speed of the 1.2 GHz core allows the NXP i.MX53 to be used for applications with high graphics performance requirements.
Automotive and Industrial Applications
In addition to their use in multimedia environments, the iMX53 processors can also do their job in the service of applications in the automotive, medical and industrial sectors. This is where connectivity plays the most important role. Especially the iMX537 with a performance of up to 800 MHz is ideally suited for this, if power and efficiency are required.
Characteristics of the Freescale / NXP i.MX35 processor
The i.MX53 is available in four different versions with different characteristics:
- i.MX534 - 800 MHz
- i.MX535 - 1 GHz
- i.MX537 - 800 MHz
