Author's CV Sebastian Schlie
Sebastian Schlie studied information technology at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, which is known for its practical courses, and successfully completed his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree with a bachelor's thesis on “Voice over IP”. Since then, he can look back on 17 years of professional experience in the IT industry and was employed by SIGMA Gesellschaft für Systementwicklung und Datenverarbeitung mbH from 2008 to 2023, initially as an IT systems engineer and later as a team leader. With the spin-off of the IT infrastructure department, Sebastian Schlie took over the position of Managing Director of SIGMA IT-Security und Infrastruktur GmbH, which has a branch in Dresden in addition to its headquarters in Chemnitz.
During his many years at SIGMA Chemnitz, Sebastian Schlie has further expanded his expertise in the areas of IT networks, IT security, virtualization, servers and storage, data backup, presales and consulting. As Managing Director of SIGMA IT-Security und Datenverarbeitung GmbH, his responsibilities include strategic company management as well as consulting and project management. Cooperation with partners from the FNEXT IT company network plays a special role here. The close contact with customers and project partners enables him to always react adequately to changing requirements in the IT environment. His versatile expertise is reflected in the certifications he has acquired in Cisco network technologies (CCNA), VMware, Sophos firewall systems and Microsoft Exchange.
During his professional career, some particularly noteworthy customer projects have been realized, including the introduction of new technologies at the Saxon State Winery Schloss Wackerbarth (IT network and server infrastructure), the Sparkasse Chemnitz (network security) and the traditional Thuringian company Eschenbach Porzellan (complete renewal of the IT infrastructure). The latter was a cross-departmental project within the SIGMA Group. His current focus is on IT networks and security.
