Reference Report Getriebebau Nossen: SAP Business One HANA at Two Locations

Initial situation

The previous IT infrastructure of Getriebebau Nossen GmbH & Co. KG consisted of various isolated applications that made it difficult to exchange data with each other. To increase the efficiency of the company's processes, the company was looking for an integrated, holistic ERP software.

Challenges

The ERP system to be used should be able to guarantee exact inventory tracking, taking batches into account, enable seamless traceability across all production stages, handle purchasing completely in the best case scenario and offer specification maintenance (including certificates for suppliers and products).

Implementation of the ERP project

Getriebebau Nossen GmbH & Co. KG decided to use SAP Business One HANA both at its sister company DREMA Maschinenbau GmbH, located in Magdeburg, and in its own company. The IT infrastructure required for this (HANA server) was obtained from the IT infrastructure department of the SIGMA Chemnitz parent company.

In the future, SAP Business One will be used to manage all company processes, especially in the areas of production, warehouse management / materials management, purchasing, sales and distribution, and financial accounting.

For a paperless overview of all production-relevant operating data, the SAP Business One AddOn SIGMA BDE, developed by SIGMA Chemnitz, will also be used. Another advantage is the CAD interface between Solid Works and SAP Business One.
