Reference report GEMAC Chemnitz GmbH: Complete renewal of the server architecture

Due to an expiring hardware leasing contract, GEMAC Chemnitz GmbH decided to replace the old technology with high-performance server architecture.

For the fundamental renewal of their IT infrastructure, they brought on board SIGMA Systemhaus Chemnitz, an experienced IT service provider from the region, as a partner. With a combination of several Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers, a Fujitsu ETERNUS storage as well as a tape library and a backup server with matching Veeam backup software, SIGMA Systemhaus Chemnitz ensures a high level of data availability and reliable data backup.

The challenge

The leasing contract for the hardware previously used by GEMAC Chemnitz GmbH expired. As part of the new procurement and restructuring of the company, this was taken as an opportunity to fundamentally renew the IT infrastructure and to create a reliable data backup and high data availability through a new server landscape.

Fujitsu Server und Eternus Storage as a base

With a combination of Fujitus ETERNUS storage, several PRIMERGY servers, a backup server and an ETERNUS tape library as well as the backup software Veeam, high data availability and reliable data backup will be guaranteed in the future.

By using SSD hard disks, the high speed required for database applications can be achieved, and with Veeam a reliable backup can be realized.
