Reference Report: Fujitsu Storage ETERNUS DX80, Virtualization with VMware and VEEAM Backup for Fruchthof Meißen
Over the years, the IT hardware used in the company was due for modernization. At the same time, the goal was to design the new IT infrastructure to be flexibly expandable and with central data storage. This was intended to accelerate data access and availability in the company and improve data security. The planning for the coming years also included a renewal of the software solution. To this end, the new IT hardware to be purchased must offer the possibility of expansion.
Gathering the requirements
Prior to the modernization of the company's IT, a detailed planning workshop was conducted together with SIGMA Chemnitz GmbH, during which the requirements and parameters of the future IT infrastructure were recorded and documented. This made it possible to develop a solution tailored to the customer's needs in order to align the IT with the requirements of the coming years.
Implementation of the IT project
Central data storage was implemented with a new Fujitsu Storage ETERNUS DX80. With the VMware software for storage virtualization, the IT landscape can be virtualized without any problems. The VEEAM backup software enables the implementation of a modern and secure backup concept. Thanks to the detailed planning carried out in advance, both the planned budget and the estimated time frame for implementation were adhered to during the modernization of the operational IT.
