As a successor to its existing infrastructure, Friweika eG was looking for a reliable and high-performance solution for storing all business-critical data and operating its virtual servers. In order to avoid production downtimes caused by system failures, the infrastructure must be redundant and fail-safe. The order

SIGMA Chemnitz implemented the requirements by introducing an active / active cluster from HUAWEI. This solution consists of one HUAWEI server and one HUAWEI storage each, which are positioned in two different fire zones. If one host fails, the affected virtual machines are automatically restarted on the other host using VMWare vSphere HA.
If one storage fails, the monitoring instance automatically switches to the intact storage. In addition, the storage runs the SmartTier feature, which stores data on different storage disks depending on performance requirements. This distributes the performance of the storage cluster to the applications according to requirements.
