Secure Future-Proof Site Connectivity with Sophos XGS Next-Gen Firewall

PROJECT GOAL

At the two locations Neuensalz and Gosen, the expansion of fiber optic lines was upcoming. As part of this, the previously used and aging LANCOM routers were to be replaced. Additionally, it was planned to continue operating WLAN as seamlessly as possible, without outages or major changes for the users.

In a brief but very focused discussion with SIGMA, the requirements were precisely recorded. The SIGMA team then reviewed various solution approaches and was able to quickly make a clear recommendation: the deployment of a Sophos Next Gen XGS Firewall. This solution not only offers the necessary performance for the new fiber optic connections and modern security features but also a decisive advantage: at the main location, a Sophos Next Gen XGS Firewall was already in use. By connecting the new systems to the central firewall, uniform management is enabled – simpler, more efficient, and better manageable. At the same time, the WLAN infrastructure was newly set up and integrated so that users now benefit from a stable and high-performance environment.

RESULT

Thanks to the competent consulting and rapid implementation by SIGMA, the challenge was mastered in a very short time. The locations are now technically optimally positioned for the future, both in terms of security and performance.
