Contract announcement Autohaus Melzer e.K.: Expansion of IT infrastructure with Fujitsu server and storage system
The existing IT infrastructure was reaching the limits of its capacity. In order to continue to meet the increasing demands of a modern automotive company, the step to expand the IT infrastructure was unavoidable.
Fujitsu Server & Eternus Storage
Previously, there was one server that was no longer up to date with the latest technology. Therefore, the car dealership decided to purchase another server and additionally to introduce an Eternus DX100 S5 Storage all Flash, which should provide for a certain fail-safety and redundancy.
The challenge
The car dealership was looking for a high-performance IT infrastructure that was less expensive than a data center solution. Furthermore, they wanted to retain control over their own data and be able to manage it themselves.
Implementation of IT project
A Fujitsu Primergy RX2540M5 server will be installed and commissioned at Autohaus Melzer. In addition, a virtual environment using VMWare will be deployed. Furthermore, a domain controller migration to Windows Server 2019 will take place.
Founded in 1992, Autohaus Melzer e.K. is a renowned authorized Skoda dealer with two locations in the south of Chemnitz (car dealership in the Altenhain/Kleinolbersdorf industrial park and service location at the Altchemnitz Center) and another car dealership in Limbach-Oberfrohna.
